Month: June 2015

Summer Time! June 8th/2015 Update

knackers7Hello all! Our apologies for the lack of updates, the band has been very busy! Its been quite the month.  For those of you who do not yet know, we began our outdoor performances at the Sidney Street Market on May 14th! This is a regular gig that happens every Thursday from 5:30-8:30 in downtown Sidney. These outdoor concerts have been very successful and we invite anyone interested in seeing the band live to come out! Last week we had accompaniment from some great young traditional Irish dancers care of the Victoria School of Irish Dancing(http://www.victoriairishdancers.com/), which attracted a great audience and made the performance high impact and a lot of fun! Thanks to Mairead for bringing the girls out!

Besides the Sidney Street Market, the band had a great time performing three concerts at this years Victoria Highland Games/Celtic Fest ( May 16th and 18th), as well as another three concerts at the Annual  Victoria International Swiftsure Yacht Races (May 22nd and 23rd). Thanks to everyone involved for some great performance opportunities!

On June 4th, we performed at Mary’s Bleu Moon. Great show. Thanks Phil for playing along with the spoons, and Les for performing Raglan Road. Also thanks to Nicola and the staff for always being so easy going. Check out Mary’s Bleu Moon: http://www.marysbleuemoon.com/

swiftsureJune 6th was a very hot, and busy day. We performed at 3:30 in the afternoon at the Sannich Market with the rock band Still Fools, and then for a few hundred people at the 53rd annual Oak Bay Tea Party down at Willows beach.

Other news: We just recorded some songs in our house and will be releasing another cd shortly. Thanks to everyone who picked up “The High St. Demo.” I think you will enjoy our new recording as well. We’re hoping to have it out by August.
